Why This Reference Exists
Illinois arrest information can be public while the place to obtain it remains unclear. The county sheriff creates the jail booking and custody record. A city police department may keep the arrest report. The Circuit Clerk keeps what happens in court. IDOC publishes a separate state-custody search for current individuals and parolees. A written request fills gaps when no public roster exists.
This reference arranges those paths by record owner and custody state. It uses the published Marshall County sheriff contact, the Illinois FOIA provisions, the Circuit Clerk's court route, city records pages, and the state and federal locators that cover different populations. The pages do not reproduce booking photos or build a gallery.
What the Pages Provide
The material is organized around the records a person may actually need:
- The home page combines the county booking-record explanation, absent-roster finding, records-request steps, Illinois law, court path, alerts, and state or federal custody alternatives.
- The Most Wanted page explains that no verified local wanted list was found and separates a court docket from an active-warrant confirmation.
- The Crime News page maps 25 News Now and historical newspaper archives, then shows how to trace a story to an agency record and court disposition.
- Henry, Lacon, and Toluca each have a city page with its own police contact, records route, absence of a public blotter, and county booking path.
- The supporting contact, privacy, terms, and legal pages explain how to use the information and where official questions belong.
What We Cannot Do
This is not the Marshall County Sheriff's Department, a city police department, a court, IDOC, or any other government office. It cannot confirm a person's current custody, release someone, post bond, schedule a visit, transfer money, pull a booking record, or give legal advice.
- Only the originating office can confirm a current jail status or explain its record.
- Only the proper court can enter or confirm a disposition, sealing order, or expungement order.
- Only the records custodian can say whether a booking photo was taken, maintained, and releasable.
- Phone numbers, hours, fees, and agency procedures can change, so verify them before relying on them.
For a live custody question, contact the sheriff, city agency, court, IDOC, BOP, or ICE locator that owns the relevant record. A private reference page cannot replace the originating office.
Search-Partner Disclosure
Some pages contain a search box supplied by a third-party provider. That provider controls its own results, pricing, and data practices. If a visitor chooses a paid partner tool, this private reference service may receive a referral fee. The disclosure does not make a partner result official, complete, or current, and it does not change the instruction to verify a record with the originating government office.
