Privacy Notice

This Privacy Notice describes what Marshall County Busted Mugshots may receive when someone uses its pages, search box, links, or contact channel, how that information is used, and when it may be shared. Using the service means accepting these practices. Government offices linked from the pages set their own privacy terms.

Information Collected

A search query entered into a third-party search box can pass to that provider. The provider may collect the query, device details, and information needed to return or offer its results under its own policy. Messages sent through a contact channel can include the sender's name, email address, message text, and attachments.

Routine technical data may also be recorded by hosting, analytics, or security systems. This can include an IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring page, time of access, pages viewed, and error information. The service does not need a person's jail record to answer a general routing question.

Cookies and Similar Tools

Cookies and related storage may keep a site preference, measure page use, support security, or help a partner tool function. Some cookies are set by third parties rather than by this service. Browser settings can block or delete cookies, but parts of a search tool or page may not work as expected afterward.

Analytics and advertising partners may use their own tags or identifiers. Their collection and opt-out choices are governed by their notices. A browser signal is honored where the applicable tool and law support it.

How Information Is Used

Information may be used to operate pages, answer a message, maintain security, understand which resources are useful, measure traffic, fix errors, show or measure advertising, and connect a visitor with a selected search partner. It may also be used to protect the service from abuse or comply with a legal duty.

  • Search data is routed to the selected third-party provider when the search box requires it.
  • Contact data is used to respond, keep a support record, or address a page problem.
  • Technical data helps diagnose outages, fraud, and security events.
  • Aggregated information may be used to improve wording and navigation.

When Data Is Shared

Information may be available to hosting companies, search partners, analytics providers, advertising networks, email or form vendors, and security services that help run the pages. Those providers may process data under their own terms. Information may also be disclosed to law enforcement or another authority when required by a valid legal order, subpoena, warrant, or other legal process, or when needed to protect rights and safety.

A link to the Marshall County sheriff and jail, the Circuit Clerk, CodeRed, IDOC, BOP, ICE, news outlet, or other outside page sends the visitor to another operator. That operator's collection and retention rules do not become this service's policy.

Security and Retention

Reasonable administrative, technical, and physical steps are used to limit unauthorized access, but no internet transmission or storage system is guaranteed secure. Data is kept only as long as needed for the stated business, support, security, legal, or recordkeeping reason, subject to vendor retention rules and backup cycles.

Do not send sensitive personal information through a general message unless the receiving government office specifically requests it through a secure channel.

Children and Age Limits

The service is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 18. Do not knowingly send personal information about a child through a search box or contact channel. If a parent or guardian believes information was submitted by a child, contact the service so the issue can be reviewed.

Juvenile custody and court records also have special confidentiality rules. A public search page should not be used to work around those limits.

Your Privacy Choices

Depending on the law that applies, a person may ask what personal information is held, request a correction, ask for deletion where available, object to or limit certain processing, or withdraw consent for a tool that relies on consent. A request may require enough detail to verify identity and may be limited by legal, security, or recordkeeping duties.

To make a privacy request, use the Contact Us route and describe the data, date range, and requested action. A search partner, analytics provider, ad network, or government office may need to receive a separate request because it controls its own data.

Updates to This Notice

This Privacy Notice may change when the service, its vendors, or applicable law changes. The revised version takes effect when posted, unless a later effective date is stated. The date of a material update may be added to the page. Continued use after an update means the revised practices apply going forward.
